Description
The Department of Sociology at The Chinese University of Hong Kong has long been one of the strongest sociology departments in Asia. It offers PhD, MPhil, MA and BSSc programmes. The Department invites applications for a tenure track post at the rank of Assistant Professor in any area of specialization. Applicants should have (i) a PhD degree in sociology; (ii) strong evidence of high-quality research and publications in sociology; and (iii) proven ability of effective teaching.
Appointment will normally be made on a contract basis for up to three years initially, which, subject to mutual agreement, may lead to longer-term appointment or substantiation. The preferred commencement for the appointment is in early August 2021 but may be negotiated.
