Postdoc Position, Center for Social Research, Peking University
Center for Social Research at Peking University is seeking candidates for a postdoctoral position to begin in September 2020 or earlier (start date negotiable). Initial appointment will be for two years, with the possibility of renewal for another term or promoted to a research scientist. The position is part of the study of low fertility in China. The postdoc will participate in designing and collecting survey data, and apply quantitative methods to study social demographic issues on family, fertility and child wellbeing in China.
Ideal candidates will have a PhD in a relevant field upon the starting date. We are open to candidates from social science backgrounds. (e.g., sociology, political science, economics, demography and etc.) Candidates must have some expertise in quantitative methods. While candidates need not have experience studying family, fertility, or child wellbeing, such background is certainly desirable.
The postdoc will be embedded in a vibrant community of quantitative social scientists at Peking University, with ties to scholars with substantive expertise across social science disciplines.
